Have you ever wondered to yourself why you have the life, health, job, car, house, etc that you do? It’s because you have manifested these things into your life. Now if you know me, you know I talk about this all the time. I am constantly talking with my family, friends and clients about this very thing – everything you have, everything you are today is because you made it so.
Now this may sound woowoo to you, but if you’ve read any of the mindset gurus out there, or ever done any mindset work yourself, you know this to be true. What you focus on, you create. So no-one is to blame or be congratulated for anything you have in your life.
So it stands to reason then that if you want something different, you alone can make this happen, and part of how to do it is to act “as if”. You get more of what you focus on, so if you focus on your lack of time, or money, or health, or fitness, or dwell on your fatness – more of this will be given to you. So you need to reverse your thinking.
Acting “as if” means doing the actions of the person you want to become. For example, if you want to lose weight, does that slimmer you eat take out 3 times a week? Or if you want to be fit, does the fit you sit on the couch all day. No! The slimmer you prepares healthy meals at home, and the fitter you exercises daily.
The easiest way to change this is to ask yourself the question – “What would the healthy me do?” I use this technique daily, I am not perfect and have things I would like to change, I still need to do the work. But I do it because it helps me become the healthier person I am aiming to be.
So act “as if” and things will start to change for the better.
