We all fall off the wagon sometimes....I did the other day.....
I was trying to get my head around some business stuff, but I didn't feel confident, so I was putting it off all morning. Eventually I went downstairs to make lunch and took out some smoked salmon. I can see you thinking, well, that's healthy, but that was the only part that was. What came next was definitely not! I proceeded to pair that with a bag of kumara crsips, and a block of Whittakers 90% chocolate (yes a bag and a block!!!) All the time I was saying to myself "what are you doing?" and I answered "stuffing my face" "well stop!" "no, I don't want to!" After I had finished (and was feeling a bit blergh) I pondered why I had done this. And the answer came to me..... I didn't want to face the task at hand, so I distracted myself with food. I also fessed up to my coach (yes I have a Nutrition Coach :) ) After that I went and did what I had been putting off, but I learnt a few lessons and I formulated a new plan.... Food is not a good way to distract yourself, we all fall off the wagon and it's how we get back on that matters. Because I now have a better plan in place - go for a walk and clear my head, and there is no such thing as failure, only feedback. |
