There are many things that cause stress in your life, the biggest one in my opinion is doing too much! In this fast paced time, when everyone wants everything yesterday it's easy to get caught up in a tornado of activities and tasks!
Following on from my post on Facebook the other day on stress, here is a simple way to tell if you need to take some time out.
First thing in the morning, as you wake up, lie quietly in bed and take your pulse. You only need to count it for one minute and this is your resting heart rate. Do this every day. After a week or two you will see what your normal is, then if your resting heart rate increases first thing in the morning for more than two days, it is an indication that you need to take time out - no crazy intense exercise, no late nights, check what your nutrition has been like.
By choosing to ignore what your body is trying to tell you can lead to a suppressed immune system - in the short term more colds, more aches and pains, less energy and in the long term auto-immune diseases can appear.
